The Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution on Monday, Sept. 28, authorizing Governor Amado Espino Jr. to sign an agreement with Landbank for the implementation of the e-payment system.

The resolution proposed by Board Member Angel Baniqued, Jr. is in preparation for the use of the e-payment portal and point-of-sale debit system at the various government facilities in the province.

?Considering that debit cards are linked to accounts of millions of banking cardholders nationwide, the provincial board finds the said system to be beneficial to the provincial government as it will provide an increase in transactions at the different facilities run by provincial government,? Baniqued said in a resolution.

Espino will sign the memorandum of agreement with Liza Melendez, manager of Landbank at the Lingayen Branch. — PIA
