IPC gets accreditation as Asian data center of European e-gambling firms

The decision positions IPC as an Alderney data center provider for the Asia. E-gambling firms accredited by the commission can only partner with IPC if they want to expand in the region.

IPC is not new to hosting e-gambling firms as the PLDT-owned firm owns the majority shares in First Cagayan Converge Data Center, which operates off-shore online gambling at the Cagayan Economic Zone in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

?Alderney is one of the key entities in the global online gaming industry, and IPC?s hosting certificate provides leverage into other enterprises in the United Kingdom and Europe. That Team Alderney has chosen to work with us in their plans to reach out to the Asian market speaks well of the readiness of Philippine technology firms to do business with the world,? said Rene Huergas, IPC president.

Huergas added that IPC is so far the only Asian data services company to earn an approval from Alderney.

?The eGambling industry thrives on technological development and innovative ideas and Alderney is at the forefront, setting standards for others to follow. We have strong relationships with other regulators around the world and that is very attractive for online gambling businesses as this gives them access to new markets,? said Susan O?Lear, director of e-commerce at Alderney Gambling.

?We have an enviable reputation as a jurisdiction that employs strong regulation but works closely with businesses to help them reach their commercial potential. We are delighted that IPC is able to meet our stringent standards and we are optimistic that our arrangement with them will benefit our current and future partners in the commission,? O?Lear said.

Maricar Nepomuceno, IPC vice president for managed data services sales for gaming, said: ?Online gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry with very large requirements technology-wise. Alderney handles gaming licenses from around the world and is one of the largest international hubs for online gaming.

?Mission-critical requirements of this scale need to be fulfilled with managed data services that meet global standards and able to grow with a client?s business. Our services will strategically help Alderney expand their business in Asia.?
