Cloud computing firm and data center operator IP Converge has been approved by Alderney Gambling Control Commission, the e-gambling regulator based in the British Channel Islands, as one of the jurisdiction?s Internet data center and managed services providers.
The decision positions IPC as an Alderney data center provider for the Asia. E-gambling firms accredited by the commission can only partner with IPC if they want to expand in the region.
IPC is not new to hosting e-gambling firms as the PLDT-owned firm owns the majority shares in First Cagayan Converge Data Center, which operates off-shore online gambling at the Cagayan Economic Zone in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
?Alderney is one of the key entities in the global online gaming industry, and IPC?s hosting certificate provides leverage into other enterprises in the United Kingdom and Europe. Huergas added that IPC is so far the only Asian data services company to earn an approval from Alderney.
