US-based outsourcing firm Sitel inaugurated on Thursday, Jan.14, its 12th location in the country at the sprawling Robinsons Mall in Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac City.
Government officials, Sitel employees, and partners attended the opening ceremonies. The facility is expected to employ about 1,500 new employees.
On hand to witness the launch were Sitel big boss Bert Quintana, Sitel Philippines chief operating officer Craig Reines, and Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) director-general Lilia de Lima.
The BPO firm said the ?strategic? opening of its newest location highlights the company?s continued confidence in the country?s economy and its countryside development plans.
Among other factors, Sitel said Tarlac was chosen because of its strategic location, the availability of well-qualified and highly-skilled talent with strong customer service skills and aptitude for complex outsourcing processes.
Currently, Sitel Philippines employs 18,000 employees from 12 customer experience centers across Metro Manila, Baguio, and Tarlac.
?I am pleased to open Sitel?s newest, state-of-the-art facility in Tarlac City,? Lilia de Lima said. ?Not only is Sitel continuing to grow and invest in its sector, but their expansion into the provinces will mean more jobs and opportunities for the people and the economy of Tarlac.?
Reines, meanwhile, said: ?Our expansion reinforces our commitment to increase our footprint throughout the country, generate more jobs for Filipinos, continue to develop our local and global leadership, and be the employer of choice in the BPO industry.?
