Sitel highlights education in ?Panagbenga? float parade

Every year, Baguio City celebrates the highly anticipated Panagbenga Festival or the Flower Festival. The festival is a month-long celebration of the ?season of blooming? and is characterized by a variety of festivities including dance parties, contests, food celebrations, and the much-awaited Panagbenga tradition, the Grand Float Parade.

This year, the Panagbenga Grand Float Parade took place on Sunday, February 28, and carried the theme, ?Bless the Children with Flowers.? Hundreds of sponsors and organizations fielded colorful and creative floats mirroring and celebrating the ?blooming season.? The theme for 2016 was ?Bless the Children with Flowers.?

BPO firm Sitel Philippines, one of Baguio?s largest employers, joined the Grand Float Parade this year and put together a beautiful floral creation highlighting the importance of education and continuous learning.

The Sitel float consisted of a barkada (Filipino term for group of friends) of smart and wise owls in the midst of several educational tools — all decorated with beautiful and vibrant blooms and thick foliage. Over 20,000 various kinds of flowers were used in the float.

?We at Sitel are pleased and honored to participate in the Panagbenga festival for the first time. Our participation says a lot about our continued commitment to the social and economic development of Baguio City and its people,? said Craig Reines, Sitel Philippines chief operating officer.
