Computer school for the blind to hold digital literacy course

The Adaptive Technology for Rehabilitation, Integration and Empowerment of the visually Impaired (ATRIEV) has announced it will conduct a 30-day ?Digital Literacy Course? for blind and low-vision persons.

ATRIEV, a non-government organization that pioneered in providing ICT training programs for the blind or visually impaired, will hold the program for free in partnership with Microsoft YouthSpark.

The course will be conducted from Aug. 15 to Sept. 23, 2016, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the 3rd floors of the ATRIEV Training Center, 1680 E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard corner Los Angeles Street in Cubao, Quezon City.

The course description includes the following:

? Learn Windows 10 operating system and Microsoft Office 2016 applications
? Use a screen reader like NVDA or screen magnification software
? Keep your computer safe from common threats, like viruses and malware
? Join workshops on life skills and presentation and platform skills

All high school and college students, preferably those who will specialize in IT and working professionals with or without a computer background, can participate in the training program.

There is registration fee of P500. Lodging available for those who come from outside of Metro Manila.
