Oppo introduced Richards on Wednesday evening, Nov. 9, at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City amid a frenzy of fans who waited to see him at the mall?s main atrium.

The introduction of the entertainer coincided with the unveiling of the company?s F1s Limited edition smartphone, nicknamed ?Selfie Expert? for its 16 MP front-shooting camera.

Oppo and the actor signed a contract at the event for their partnership and for the latter as the new endorser of F1s, particularly the limited edition.

?We are thrilled to welcome Alden Richards to our growing Oppo family. We can?t wait to see how Alden will help us redefine our selfie-taking experiences,? said Stephen Cheng, Oppo brand marketing manager.

Oppo operations manager Garrick Hung said getting Richards as one of their brand ambassadors — another is singer Sarah Geronimo — is in keeping with their philosophy to be “hard working, always rooted on the ground, and successful in what they do.”

In like manner, he said Richards and Geronimo are both hard-working, humble, and successful in their own craft.

“Definitely, we are not stopping, we will continuously strive… to outperform what we already achieved,” said Hung.

Oppo and Lazada online shopping destination also announced their partnership at the event, boosting the phone company’s prospects as it also extended its tie up with Home Credit Corp. that offers interest-free loan until January 2017.

It can be recalled the smartphone maker first unpacked its F1s Selfie Expert in August this year at an exclusive resort in Hamilo Coast, Batangas.

After its debut in August, the F1s sold 19,000 units in just three days. German research firm GfK said in a report that Oppo is now the Philippines’ second best-selling smartphone brand.

The F1s Limited colored black in front and gray in the back has the same specifications with the original edition.
