Players in the local information and communications technology (ICT) sector have expressed confidence over the outcome of their participation as exhibitors in the just concluded CommunicAsia 2017 Summit, Asia?s largest ICT event, held on May 23-25 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
The event allowed Asian governments and business establishments to take a peek at top-of-the-line technologies which can help propel their enterprises, cities, and nations upward and hasten their digital transformation.
Nine ICT firms from the Philippines made up the Philippine Pavilion in the 45,000-sqm exhibit space which attracted ICT stakeholders including representatives of telecommunications and technology firms, enterprises, regulators, authorities, analysts, and industry experts from around the world.
?So far, it?s pretty good simply because there are a lot of companies that want to partner with us and bring some technologies to the Philippines,? said Francis John A. Francisco, VP for operations at Red Core Solutions, one of the nine exhibiting companies.
The company provides solutions via business intelligence and analytics, custom-built software applications, enterprise process optimization, and operational support services.
According to Francisco, they decided to join CommunicAsia 2017 to market their company outside the Philippines and show the world what the Filipino talent can offer.
For Kendrick Lloyd L. Chong, assistant vice-president for IT Services of Alliance Software, participating in an event like CommunicAsia 2017 to look for partners and clients is a long-term planning investment.
?There were a lot of inquiries,? he observed. ?There were a lot of people who were looking for Filipino partners to help them sell their products and services in the Philippines because they know the Philippines is growing from an economic standpoint.?
Alliance Software is an independent software development outsourcing company with offices in Manila, Cebu, and Tokyo.
The other exhibitors were PLDT Enterprise, the business arm of PLDT,; ThinkBIT Solutions, a software firm offering development and design services for Web and online platforms; Xurpas, a mobile consumer technology company; Exist Software Labs, builder of open source technologies; Pointwest Technologies, which boasts of digital offerings in analytics, cloud computing, enterprise mobile, and test automation; Spring Valley Tech Corp., an integrated technology and innovation hub in the country; and Advanced World Solutions, a software development outsourcing company.
