Republic of Gamers (ROG), the gaming branch of Taiwanese ICT giant Asus, has announced the launch of Zephyrus, the world?s slimmest gaming laptop powered by a Nvidia’s Max-Q design.

The ROG Zephyrus houses the 7th-generation Intel Core i7 (Kaby Lake) processor and the latest Nvidia?GeForce?GTX 1080 GPU. It features the Windows 10 Creators Update, stepping up the performance of PC games with the all-new Windows Game Mode.

ROG aims to address the needs of today’s highly mobile gamers, hence the effort to create laptops that are slimmer, cooler, and quieter but with the same level of performance. Zephyrus’ design is blade-inspired that results to a sleek profile that tapers from 17.9mm down to just 16.9mm at its thinnest point.

The compact dimensions make the world?s thinnest gaming laptop with the 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics.

It is cooled by an exclusive Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) that runs cooler and quieter without sacrificing the performance. AAS incorporates the unique AeroAccelerator (AA) technology that increases the speed and efficiency of airflow through the laptop.

The fan?s 3D-curved surface cover and accelerator guides enhance airflow and move heat away from the components more efficiently. Opening the Zephyrus flexes a portion of the bottom of the chassis to increase the airflow volume by 20 percent and further increase air circulation.

Positioned at the front of the chassis is the ROG Zephyrus?keyboard to allow better cooling of internal components. The Asus Aura RGB lighting technology provides customizable lighting effects over the entire keyboard as well as separately highlighted customizable effects for the WASD and QWER keys.

It has anti-ghosting keys to ensure commands are correctly interpreted when up to 30 keys are pressed simultaneously. This gaming monster positions the touchpad to the right of the keyboard, away from the traditional center point.

The 15.6-inch Zephyrus is equipped with a 120Hz display that enables smooth gaming at a true 120Hz frame rate. Nvidia G-Sync display technology synchronizes the display?s refresh rate with the Nvidia?GeForce graphics card?s frame rate, ensuring ultra-smooth visuals.

Wide-viewing angles and a 100%?sRGB color gamut let the panel produce lifelike colors from any angle.?This gaming gem is also equipped with a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 for G-Sync and 4K UHD display output.

Asus ROG GX501 Zephyrus will be available by August 2017 and will be available for pre-order starting June 2017. For the complete specifications, check out the details below.
