Sony launches new flagship phone Xperia XZ2; pre-orders until May 6

As technology continues to advance at a faster pace, Sony Philippines formally introduced on Tuesday, April 24, the brand’s? newest flagship Xperia XZ2 and three other products in the Philippines.

Xperia XZ2 features the advance “Motion Eye camera,” the world?s first smartphone capable of 1080p Full HD 960 frames per second (fps) Super Slow Motion and 4K high dynamic range (HDR) video recording.

Pre-order for the smartphone is until May 6, with users receiving a gift set worth P5,479. Availability of the flagship smartphone in the Philippines will begin May 11.

Along with the launch of its flagship phone, Sony also unveiled the Xperia XA2 Ultra, Ear Duo, and Xperia Touch.

?We continue our promise to offer a range of flagship devices that perfectly suit the lifestyle demands of our customer requirements, as the market advances very fast,” Sony Philippines managing director Nobuyoshi Otake said.

Zooming in on the entertainment seekers, the new XZ2 carry our new breakthrough technologies, such as Dynamic Vibration System, 4K HDR movie recording, and now with a larger screen design to offer a more immersive viewing experience.”

The new design comes with an extended 5.7-inch 18:9 aspect ratio HDR Full HD+ display.

Image quality has been improved, as the XZ2 comes with a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera and the 1080p 960 fps super slow motion camera feature. In addition, Sony also introduces for the first time on a smartphone the 4K HDR recording.

Sony offers a brand new Dynamic Vibration System which brings movie, video, and game experiences into a whole new level with the FHD+ HDR display and Sony’s BRAVIA TV technology. It is also boosted with a powerful stereo speakers that the High-Resolution Audio and LDAC offers.

Powered by the latest Android operating system (OS) Oreo 8.0, the Xperia XZ2 is priced at P43,990 (12 months with 0% interest) and is available in two colors: liquid silver and liquid black.

Meanwhile, the Xperia XA2 Ultra, which was launched in Manila in early April, is designed for users who take selfies. It features a 16-megapixel with Optical Image Stabilization and 8-megapixel 120? super wide-angle dual front cameras, both with front flash.

It is available in Dual SIM in three contemporary colors: Black, Blue and Gold in all Sony Center stores, Xperia shops, and Sony authorized dealers in the Philippines.

Sony levels up with Xperia Ear Duo?s Dual Listening technology that lets users listen to music and at the same time hear environmental sound or conversations. The earphones features an ultra-low power consuming ?CXD5602? chip and a sophisticated multi-sensor platform. The ?Daily Assist? feature recognizes time, location, and activities that prompt reminders. It is designed to avoid eyeglasses or accessories as it sits under the ear securely.

On the other hand, the 23-inch high definition (HD) touchscreen Xperia Touch is built using Sony?s SXRD projection display technology and combined with infrared light and real-time detection via its built-in camera a rate of 60 fps detectable by physical touch

The Sony XA2 Ultra and Xperia Touch are now available in the Philippines priced at P22,990 and P79,999, respectively. The Xperia Touch can be purchased at?three Sony Center stores in Glorietta, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Megamall. Meanwhile, the Xperia Ear Duo is set to come to Philippine shores in May and is only available at Sony Centre SM Megamall.
