Chinese tech firm Xiaomi has announced the return of its Mi Note series with Mi Note 10, the latest device of its flagship lineup which features the world’s first 108MP penta camera setup with a massive 5260mAh battery
“After our successful launch of the Philippines’ first 64MP smartphone camera, we’re excited to announce that Filipino Mi fans can now shoot epic photos using the world’s first 108MP penta camera smartphone, the Mi Note 10,” Steven Shi, Xiaomi’s head of Southeast Asia said.
Xiaomi’s consolidated results for the third quarter of 2019 delivered its highest total revenue since its founding with a 17.2% year-on-year growth. In addition, its net profit for this year’s first three quarters, accounting of 48.7%, has already exceeded the full net profit of last year.
Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10 encompasses five different lenses — a 108MP wide-angle lens, 5MP telephoto lens, 12MP telephoto lens, 20MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a macro lens. This setup enables a seamless zoom experience from 0.6x to 50x without compromising image quality.
With the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX 108MP sensor, Mi Note 10 features the highest resolution of any smartphone on the market – 12032 x 9024. For the first time ever, the 108MP camera can produce billboard-level prints up to 4.24 meters high. The device offers a 1/1.33” large image sensor that supports 4-in-1 pixel binning to capture more detail in low-light conditions, while the 4-axis OIS enables unmatched clarity.
Photography enthusiasts who always look to produce the most natural looking portrait photos will be pleased by Mi Note 10’s 12MP 2x telephoto lens at 50mm focal length, which is one of the most popular focal lengths used by professional portrait photographers. Under low light conditions, the 1.4μm large pixel size and dual PD autofocus allows for sharper and brighter portraits.
The 5MP 5x telephoto lens is also capable of 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom to complete the epic zoom range. In addition, the lens is equipped with OIS and a f/2.0 aperture for better images under non-optimal lighting environments.
With its 117 degrees field of view, the 20MP ultra-wide angle lets users capture epic landscapes and large group photos without having to cut people out; while the macro lens offers autofocus for closeups images.
Mi Note 10’s rear camera setup supports all-new Night Mode 2.0 which allows for greater light capture and combines multiple shots of the same scene for increased versatility. Concert-goers and night photographers will be thrilled with the RAW multi-frame noise reduction.
Mi Note 10 also offers ShootSteady video technology for a smooth and steady video experience, along with 960 frames-per-second macro slow-motion video and 4K video with the ultra-wide angle. Users can leverage Vlog mode to easily create stylish and engaging videos with seven different cinematic effects.
Aside from the powerful penta rear camera setup, Mi Note 10 also features a 32MP front camera, which offers AI beautify, AI portrait selfies, AI scene detection, and AI face unlock, panorama selfie, and palm shutter feature for amazing selfies.
Xiaomi also offers Mi Note 10 Pro with an 8-piece lens on the primary camera and a large 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The 8-piece lens delivers images that look clearer and sharper. This variant will be offered at a later date.
Mi Note 10 features an incredible 6.47” 3D curved AMOLED display. The edge-to-edge display offers slimmer bezels than ever before for a totally immersive experience, while the 400,000:1 contrast ratio allows for deeper blacks and higher color fidelity.
Mi Note 10 offers the all-new 88% thinner in-screen optical fingerprint sensor, with a 10% larger fingerprint detection area which is responsive under strong light, cold conditions, and dry fingers.
On the back, Mi Note 10 is encased with 3D curved glass which provides excellent grip and feel for the user’s hand. Both the front and the back feature Corning Gorilla Glass 5, adding increased scratch resistance for everyday durability.
The device is offered in three colors — Midnight Black, Aurora Green, and Glacier White.
The long-lasting 5260mAh battery supports 30W fast-charge and can stay charged for more than two days. The device also utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G mobile platform with 8nm process technology for smooth operation.
The Mi Note 10 comes preinstalled with MIUI 11, which introduces a whole new design and a set of upgraded features. Removing unnecessary interface elements and visual clutter, MIUI 11 brings content into the spotlight. Making efficient use of AMOLED screen capabilities, MIUI 11 makes Always-on Display a perfect personalization tool.
In addition to revolutionizing the visual and audio experience, MIUI 11 comes with a set of productivity tools and lifestyle services. Wireless file sharing, printing, working with documents, and managing tasks are all available out-of-the-box.
The Mi Note 10 6GB+128GB will be available at P25,990 starting December 6 at Mi Authorized Stores and Mi Zones and on December 12 in Lazada.
