Local tech startup Unawa recently announced two new digital solutions that target businesses who need to navigate the “new normal” landscape. SafePass and Safeform are two solutions from Unawa that seek to ensure the safety of both the employees and physical locations of enterprises, as well as their digital data.
The fully digital SafePass solution takes care of the contact-tracing needs of an organization through contact-free means. Through the platform, companies will be able to oversee and have control of the foot traffic inside their stores or physical locations.
Additionally, if customers or clients are exposed to other people inside the premises, these customers will then be notified to undergo contact-tracing.
On the other hand, SafeForm is a solution that revolves around digital transformation. By enabling business to convert traditional printed or analog forms to digital platforms, SafeForm is able to secure company data and still comply with contact-free transactions and processes under these new operational parameters.
While not directly endorsing the solutions to be used by the government sector, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) assistant secretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic said the apps is a welcome venture of the private sector to ensure the safety of employees in the workplace.
“We need the economy to run again. Let us not sacrifice the safety of our people. SafePass is a very good effort. For SafeForm, I want to see how it pans out for the private sector and even for the government,” Caintic said in a virtual press briefing.
DOST secretary Fortunato dela Peña also expressed his appreciation for private organizations like Unawa who are undertaking digital initiatives. “We in the DOST are not endorsing any kind of business, but we are endorsing the need for solutions to address the crisis that we are facing,” Dela Peña said.
SafePass was co-developed by Amihan Global Strategies and Talino Venture Labs, which the primary partner and investor of Unawa. SafeForm is Unawa’s maiden technology offering.
