REVIEW | Moshi Overture case for iPhone and VersaCover for iPad

They say you get what you pay for. That is true for almost all products we buy – including those essential covers for our precious devices.

Getting a cheap case for our 8th generation iPad became costly in the long term as we had to replace the thing twice in just a matter of months. The iPhone 13 that I got, on the other hand, had to settle with an unwieldy shell that added too much heft to its actual size.

Enter Moshi, a California-headquartered maker of digital accessories, which sent their Overture case for iPhone and VersaCover for iPad for us to try on our gadgets.

The difference between the old and the new was like worlds apart. Let’s get down to the details.

Overture case with detachable magnetic wallet

This iPhone protection has three components – a case, a leather cover, and a wallet.

The case is made of durable materials that offer good protection for the device, while the leather cover provides additional security. It also serves as a wallet since it features two card slots and a full-length pocket for cash and receipts.

It’s a three-in-one protection that will keep your iPhone safe from everyday wear and tear.

The leather cover not only adds a touch of class and sophistication, but it also provides a secure grip so that you don’t have to worry about dropping your phone.

The Jet Black color of the case and cover gives them a sleek, professional look that will match any outfit, bag, or accessories. Moshi’s website says it is crafted from vegan leather, which is non-toxic and free of any BPA elements.

The detachable cover is flexible. It allows the user to put the device inside a bag, without accidentally touching sensitive keys such as the “flashlight” or “camera.”

It’s foldable as well. The user can opt not to completely remove the cover while using the iPhone’s back camera, making it easy to take photos while still having the phone protected.

However, the user may remove the cover completely if desired, and for greater ease of phone handling. This is a great feature for those who prefer to use the phone without any additional layer.

Lastly, it is compatible with SnapTo Series of magnetic mounts that Moshi also sells.

Overall, this 3-in-1 case and wallet is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, protective, and stylish cover for their iPhone 13.

The Overture case retails for $49.95.

VersaCover case with folding cover

The Moshi VersaCover is very flexible and can be folded in a variety of ways. The multiple viewing angles include landscape, portrait, and typing position.

The origami-inspired case latched on my daughter’s 8th generation iPad without any effort at all. Unlike the previous covers that we bought at the mall, the VersaCover had a streamlined design that didn’t feel bulky when carried by the hand.

The translucent material used at the back of the cover also allowed the iconic Apple logo to be seen in a stylish manner. The microfiber-lined cover with magnetic closure protects the touchscreen.

This iPad cover comes in three different colors – Metro Black, Stone Gray, and Sakura Pink — that can tend to this generation’s needs to be “aesthetic”. It’s intended for 7th and 8th generation models of the iPad.

The VersaCover retails for $54.95.

Both the Overture case for iPhone and Versacover for iPad are covered by 10-year global warranty.
