Internet giant Google has appointed technology executive Prep Palacios as its new country manager for the Philippines, succeeding Bernadette Nacario, who now serves as country manager of cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks.
Jackie Wang, country manager of Google Thailand, served in the interim as head of Google Philippines before the appointment of Palacios, who will now lead Google’s growth strategy and advertising portfolio in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economies.
Palacios, who has been with Google for eight years, will report to Sapna Chadha, vice president for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier.
She will oversee efforts to help businesses and communities leverage Google Search — now enhanced by Gemini AI — and the fast-rising YouTube Shopping platform.
“Prep steps into the role at a pivotal moment, as AI and video commerce reshape how businesses connect with audiences,” said Chadha.
“Her leadership and commitment to Filipino brands make her well-positioned to champion Google’s impact in the country and the region.”
With more than two decades of experience in technology and business strategy, Palacios previously led sales and digital transformation initiatives at Google and spent 12 years at Microsoft in senior roles covering channels, distribution, and the small and medium-sized business segment.
She also held consulting positions at Oracle, Ernst & Young, and Siemens.
In her new role, Palacios said she will focus on helping brands scale and drive measurable results through Google’s ecosystem.
“By combining our strong foundation in Search with the rapid growth of YouTube Shopping, we can reinforce the Philippines’ position as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economy,” she said.
Palacios, a graduate of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) with a degree in Business Administration and Computer Applications, is based in Manila and is a mother of three.
