IBM names Leo Capinpin as country general manager for PH

Technology firm IBM has appointed veteran executive Leo Capinpin as country general manager of IBM Philippines, succeeding Aileen Judan-Jiao, who will transition to a regional role within the company’s Asean organization.

The leadership change was announced by Catherine Lian, vice president and executive technology leader for IBM Asean, in a LinkedIn post highlighting Capinpin’s long tenure and experience across the company’s technology and services portfolio.

“With over 25 years of leadership and deep technology domain expertise, Leo has consistently driven strong growth across multiple roles at IBM. He has led high-performing teams, delivered record-breaking deals, and built strong client partnerships across key industries in Philippines,” Lian said.

She added that Capinpin is expected to “accelerate our growth journey in the Philippines and continue to deliver tangible value to our clients.”

Capinpin has spent more than two decades at IBM, holding several senior posts, including general manager for Systems and country manager for Global Technology Services in the Philippines.

His work has centered on enterprise infrastructure and platforms aimed at enabling real-time data insights, secure digital transactions, and more efficient IT operations for organizations undergoing modernization.

A graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Capinpin assumes the role as enterprises increasingly invest in hybrid cloud, artificial intelligence, and next-generation computing capabilities.

In his own LinkedIn post, Capinpin described the appointment as both a professional milestone and an opportunity to guide clients through a new phase of technology adoption.

“It is an honor to represent [the] company that consistently brings thought leadership with innovation at its core for the Hybrid Cloud and AI driven Enterprise,” he said.

“I look forward to working with our clients and partners to make informed decisions and embark on sustainable transformation in the Agentic AI era with Quantum Computing on the horizon.”
