Lawyer Leonido “Bodie” Pulido III has reportedly been appointed as undersecretary at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), although his name has yet to appear on the agency’s official website.
Pulido joins a leadership group at DICT with shared ties to the Sigma Rho fraternity. He, DICT secretary Henry Aguda, and fellow undersecretary Leandro Angelo Aguirre are all members of the fraternity based at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law.
Prior to his reported appointment, Pulido served as assistant secretary at both the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
At the DOE, he supervised the Oil Industry Management Bureau, the Energy Resource Development Bureau, and field offices nationwide. He also served as vice chairman of the Philippine Exploration Contracting Round, which oversees upstream energy exploration policies.
Pulido is also known for his work in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, having co-founded Electric Vehicle Expansion Enterprises, Inc. (EVEE-I), where he served as president from 2013 to 2016. He also served as executive director of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP).
Earlier in his career, he worked as a legal associate at Ponce Enrile Reyes & Manalastas (PECABAR), handling civil, commercial, and criminal litigation.
He earned his law degree and undergraduate degree in secondary education from UP.
