The International Public Relations Association Philippines (IPRA Philippines) has launched a short-form video series aimed at explaining public relations concepts and applying communication lessons to everyday situations.
Dubbed “PR Matters,” the series consists of 12 videos featuring veteran PR practitioners. The episodes will be released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook as part of the organization’s PR Month activities.
The videos are grouped into three themes: “PR 101,” “PR IRL,” and “PReady FR FR.”
“PR 101” will cover the differences among public relations, advertising, and marketing, as well as influencer promotions and the factors that determine whether a story receives news coverage.
The segment will feature IPRA Philippines chairperson Claire Papa, past chairpersons Joy Buensalido and Jingjing Romero, and Abigail Ho-Torres.
“PR IRL” will examine widely discussed public relations and communication cases and identify lessons that viewers can apply. Featured practitioners include vice chair Kane Errol Choa, director Charisse Chuidian, past chair Noel Nieva, and secretary Rowena Capulong Reyes.
Meanwhile, “PReady FR FR” will focus on everyday communication issues, including how social media behavior can affect a person’s public image and how users can navigate online cancel culture. The segment will feature treasurer Wilford Wong and past chair Millie Dizon.
The social media series expands IPRA Philippines’ efforts to make PR knowledge available beyond industry practitioners.
In 2023, the organization published “PR Matters: A Communicator’s Guide to Public Relations in the Philippines,” a collection of insights and experiences from Filipino PR professionals.
It has also conducted CommuniTalks sessions at universities, including the University of the Philippines Diliman, Far Eastern University, and Centro Escolar University, where practitioners discussed real-world communication cases with students.
IPRA Philippines is the local chapter of the International Public Relations Association, a global organization of public relations professionals.
