Avocado Broadband Telecoms Inc. has secured its first 10 commercial accounts in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone as the Filipino-owned telecommunications company expands its enterprise connectivity business.
The new customers include MNS Impex, Subic Riviera Hotel, Horizon Hotel, The Reef, and The Lighthouse. Other clients operate in customs brokerage, corporate services, food and beverage, fitness, and related commercial sectors.
“As we continue to expand our enterprise connectivity business, we consider Subic an important market due to its strategic location, accessibility, and a wide range of businesses and industries operating in the area,” Avocado president Paco Magsaysay said.
Avocado is targeting hotels, logistics and trading companies, manufacturers, offices, and tourism establishments in the freeport. It also plans to expand its enterprise and carrier-grade services to other business and industrial areas in the country.
The company operates a nationwide subsea fiber network with a capacity of 200 gigabits per second and major nodes in Bacolod, Panay, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro.
The network uses a healing-loop redundancy architecture that allows data traffic to be redirected to alternative fiber routes when a primary link is disrupted. The setup is intended to limit outages caused by fiber cuts, equipment failures, construction work, and natural disasters.
Avocado also operates a 200G North-South Luzon backbone supporting enterprise and carrier-grade services. Its network connects to the Equinix and Digital Edge data centers in Luzon.
“Our nationwide infrastructure, high-capacity backbone, and focus on network resiliency allow us to provide businesses with the dependable and scalable connectivity they increasingly require,” Magsaysay said.
“This first batch of clients has given us a strong foundation for continued growth, not just within the freeport, but also in the surrounding areas,” he added.
Aside from Subic, Avocado’s network serves business and industrial locations including Aboitiz LIMA Estate, Laguna Technopark, and Carmelray Industrial Park.
Avocado holds a congressional telecommunications franchise under Republic Act 10895.
