More than 90% of Philippine respondents to a Synology survey consider AI-ready infrastructure important to improving workflow efficiency and productivity, but concerns over data security and privacy remain significant barriers to adoption.
Around 70% of respondents cited data security and privacy as a key challenge, pointing to concerns over how business information is stored, accessed, and protected as organizations expand their use of artificial intelligence.
The survey found that 47% of respondents struggle with data quality and availability, while 40% said their data is scattered across different environments. Nearly 40% also said they lack visibility into how information submitted to third-party AI tools is managed.
The findings also showed a preference for infrastructure that gives organizations greater control over their data. About 74% of respondents favored on-premises or hybrid deployments, while 9.9% prioritized public cloud infrastructure.
Ransomware recovery was another area where confidence appeared uneven. While 72.4% of respondents said they were confident that protected backups could help them recover from a ransomware attack, only 25.4% described themselves as “very confident.”
Synology is positioning its storage, backup, and collaboration products around these concerns, with its 2026 lineup focusing on data infrastructure, cyber resilience, and AI-enabled productivity.
Among the new products is the PAS7700, an active-active NVMe all-flash storage system designed for mission-critical workloads, alongside new FS and RS series systems. Synology Tiering and data reduction features in DSM 7.4 are aimed at helping organizations manage growing data volumes.
For backup and recovery, the company’s ActiveProtect appliances provide centralized backup management, immutable data protection, and automated isolation.
ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 adds support for Nutanix AHV and Proxmox VE, as well as Amazon EC2, Azure VM, and Google Workspace, while expanding cross-platform and cloud recovery options.

Synology has also introduced the DP5200, a compact 1U ActiveProtect appliance aimed at growing businesses and remote offices.
The company is extending AI capabilities to its Office Suite, ChatPlus, and Meet applications. Its DVA7400 surveillance system adds AI-powered video search and analytics that can operate on premises. Synology also previewed scale-out storage and hybrid surveillance systems for enterprise deployments.
Synology Philippines country manager Claire Huang said businesses need confidence in how their information is handled as they increase their use of AI.
“Businesses need confidence in how their data is managed and protected if they want to translate AI adoption into sustainable business results,” Huang said.
