ABS-CBN taps SpyCloud to guard employee credentials

Broadcast firm ABS-CBN has adopted the identity threat protection platform of US-based cybersecurity firm SpyCloud to strengthen its defenses against data breaches and account takeover attacks.

The deployment enables ABS-CBN to monitor and remediate compromised employee credentials in real time.

SpyCloud’s system alerts the company when credentials appear in breaches or are stolen by infostealer malware, allowing its security team to force password resets and invalidate active sessions before attackers can exploit them.

With more than 5,000 employees, ABS-CBN sought a proactive approach to protect its corporate data and workforce from growing threats against media organizations, including phishing and ransomware.

“Protecting our employees and our organization from identity-based attacks is a top priority,” said Algen Nazareno, head of content and information security at ABS-CBN.

He said the partnership gives the company “the intelligence to act decisively before our identities can be weaponized.”

SpyCloud, headquartered in Austin, Texas, specializes in transforming recaptured darknet data into actionable intelligence for organizations. It provides automated remediation to minimize risks from stolen credentials and session cookies.
