Motolite has expanded its battery portfolio with the launch of a dedicated line of golf cart batteries, signaling a push beyond automotive applications into specialized electric mobility used by golf courses and fleet operators.
The company introduced its Golf Master battery series — available in 6-volt, 8-volt, and 12-volt variants — designed to meet original equipment specifications for golf carts already deployed across the country.
The batteries are built to operate under high heat and wet conditions common in the Philippines, addressing performance degradation typically associated with tropical climates.
According to Motolite, the Golf Master line uses manufacturing processes based on German battery engineering standards.
The company said the same design principles have been applied in its batteries used for off-road and utility vehicles, where repeated charge-discharge cycles and vibration tolerance are critical.
Motolite said the new golf cart batteries incorporate updates aimed at extending service life and improving consistency in power delivery.
These include an enhanced grid design that reduces internal electrical resistance and uses corrosion-resistant alloy formulations to strengthen current flow under continuous use.
The company also introduced changes in its paste formulation and mixing process, intended to improve adhesion to battery grids and maintain capacity over extended cycling.
Golf carts typically rely on deep-cycle batteries that are repeatedly discharged and recharged throughout the day, making durability and capacity retention key performance factors for course operators.
Each Golf Master unit carries a 12-month warranty, supported by Motolite’s nationwide service network.
Motolite also confirmed plans to introduce lithium-based golf cart batteries in the coming months, reflecting broader industry movement toward lighter, faster-charging, and longer-life battery chemistries for electric vehicles and utility fleets.
While lead-acid batteries remain dominant in golf carts due to cost and existing infrastructure, lithium systems are increasingly adopted in newer fleets for reduced maintenance requirements and higher energy density.
The Golf Master line was formally introduced last Dec. 16, 2025, during the Annual FPI Golf Invitational at The Orchard Golf and Country Club.
The event was organized by the Federation of Philippine Industries (FPI) and brought together executives from manufacturing and industrial sectors.
FPI said the tournament also served as a fundraising activity supporting programs aimed at strengthening Philippine manufacturing, including initiatives focused on ease of doing business, anti-smuggling efforts, and enforcement of Philippine National Standards.
Established in 1991, FPI represents 30 industry associations and 95 corporate members across the manufacturing sector. The annual golf invitational resumed after a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Motolite Golf Master batteries are available through select Motolite outlets nationwide and via e-commerce platforms.
