A numismatic and collectibles event bringing together collectors, historians, and cultural institutions opened this weekend in Pasig City, highlighting the role of coins and banknotes as historical artifacts that reflect the country’s heritage.
Called Minted MNL, the event’s summer edition serves as a platform for collectors and enthusiasts of coins, paper money, and precious metals to exchange knowledge and showcase historical pieces.
Organizers describe it as a meeting point for collectors, historians, artists, and institutions interested in preserving historical objects and the stories behind them.
This year’s event carries the theme “Where Stories Bloom,” emphasizing how collectibles such as coins and banknotes can represent moments in history, artistic expression, and cultural identity that are preserved across generations.
Among the highlights of the show is the first public release of the Asean coin, which organizers say symbolizes regional unity and shared heritage among member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Minted MNL said the event also promotes responsible collecting and cultural preservation. The organization is a licensed dealer of cultural properties certified by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) under the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.
National institutions supporting the event include the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Tourism (DOT), and PhilPost, reflecting efforts to strengthen the numismatic community in the Philippines.
Visitors can explore exhibits featuring gold, silver, bullion, coins, paper currency, and other historical collectibles while interacting with dealers and experts in the field.

The Minted MNL: Where Stories Bloom show is being held on March 14–15 at The Westin Manila Hotel from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Organizers said a year-end edition of the event is also scheduled on November 21–22 themed “The Beacon” again at The Westin Manila Hotel.
Sponsors of the event include Robinsons Land, PCGS Asia, Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio, Purefoods Magnolia, Unilever, and grading services CCG, NGC, PMG, and CGC Cards.
