Seven Filipino startups developing artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions are set to represent the Philippines at GITEX AI Asia 2026 in Singapore, highlighting the country’s growing presence in the global innovation ecosystem.
The participation comes as the Philippines continues to climb global innovation rankings. The country placed 50th out of 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index 2025 and ranked third among lower-middle-income economies, reflecting improving capabilities in science and technology.
The startups selected for the event cover a range of sectors including education, agriculture, property technology, and climate monitoring:
- GradeChum – an AI platform that automates the evaluation of handwritten and digital student assessments, reducing teachers’ workload while providing real-time insights.
- Farmesto – combines Internet of Things (IoT) sensors with AI for greenhouse management, including dosing, irrigation, and climate control systems.
- Duon Wayfinding – offers real-time indoor navigation and geo-marketing tools, enabling location tracking within malls and buildings alongside consumer analytics.
- Collo – a cloud-based property management platform that automates tenant management, billing, and collections.
- Cerebro – an integrated school management and content system designed for hybrid learning environments.
- GreenVisions – provides AI-driven farm monitoring and diagnostics aimed at improving crop yields and reducing costs.
- WEHLO – develops localized weather and hydrometeorological monitoring systems to support disaster preparedness and environmental research.
The startups are backed by the Department of Science and Technology’s Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), which supports commercialization, intellectual property protection, and market access for local innovations.
Their participation is funded through various DOST-TAPI programs, including the GALING, TECHNiCOM, and Expanded Venture Financing Program, as well as the Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibit (SPICE) Program, which facilitates exposure in global technology platforms.
GITEX AI Asia 2026, scheduled on April 9–10, will serve as a venue for the startups to present their technologies to international investors, partners, and industry players as the government pushes to position Philippine-developed solutions in global markets.
