PH Blockchain Week 2026 to spotlight real-world use cases

Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2026 will highlight the shift of blockchain technology from concept to real-world deployment when it returns from June 19 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Organizers said this year’s theme, “Decoded: Deployed,” reflects a broader industry transition as blockchain applications move beyond experimentation into operational systems across sectors such as finance, gaming, public infrastructure, and digital identity.

The three-day event is expected to draw more than 15,000 attendees, surpassing last year’s 11,000 participants and marking the largest gathering since PBW launched in 2022.

“PBW 2026 brings together the energy of a festival with the depth of a world-class conference. We’re creating a full-spectrum experience, where business, culture, and community come together in one space,” said PBW president and co-founder Janelle Barretto.

Among the key components of the event is the Philippine Blockchain Leadership Forum, an invitation-only summit co-presented by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP) that will convene leaders from government, finance, and industry to discuss policy directions and collaboration.

Other activities include the main conference featuring global speakers on blockchain use cases, an innovation expo showcasing deployed Web3 solutions, and side events such as gaming and music festivals, hackathons, and startup-investor matchmaking sessions.

Organizers said the Philippines’ young, mobile-first population and strong gaming culture continue to position the country as a key market for Web3 adoption, with blockchain increasingly integrated into everyday applications such as digital wallets and play-to-earn platforms.

Industry groups also pointed to ongoing initiatives aimed at using blockchain for transparency and accountability, including proposals such as the Citizen Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act and programs like the BCP’s Integrity Chain.

“Blockchain is no longer just about potential — it’s about execution,” said BCP chairman and Management Association of the Philippines president Donald Lim.

“What matters now is how we align efforts across industry and government to turn early use cases into systems that deliver real, lasting impact.”

PBW organizers said the event aims to bring together stakeholders shaping the country’s digital economy, as blockchain adoption continues to expand into both private and public sector applications.
