Globe Business is urging Philippine companies to integrate their networks, cloud platforms, cybersecurity systems, application programming interfaces (APIs), and artificial intelligence tools instead of deploying them as separate technology projects.
At G Summit 2026 at the Conrad Hotel in Pasay City on Wednesday, Aug. 5, the enterprise arm of Globe Telecom introduced what it called an “Intelligent Transformation” framework aimed at addressing fragmented systems and operational gaps within large organizations.
Globe Business said enterprises now operate an average of 120 applications, creating integration, security, and data-management challenges as companies expand their technology infrastructure.
“Enterprise scale demands seamless harmony across every layer of the technology stack,” Globe Business vice president Glenn Estrella said.
During a press briefing, Estrella said companies should not treat AI readiness as a point they must reach before experimenting with the technology.
Large enterprises, he said, may never consider themselves completely prepared because the technology and its risks continue to change.
“I think the large enterprise, they’re going to end up facing a situation where you’re never really going to be ready,” Estrella said. “Because I think most of the readiness sometimes is a lack of possible planning and understanding of what the tech can do.”
He said unfamiliarity often prevents organizations from testing AI, even when it can be introduced through limited prototypes rather than an immediate company-wide deployment.
“But if you have a certain understanding of the technology, things get a little bit more easier to absorb and the risks are lower,” Estrella said.
As an example, he said Globe Business demonstrated Google Workspace and Gemini Enterprise to a prospective customer who had initially been wary of AI. The demonstration showed how AI features could be embedded in software already used by the company.
“And he saw how it can really help his business. And nawala ‘yung fear niya,” Estrella said, using a Filipino phrase that means the customer’s fear disappeared. “It’s not something to be afraid of.”
Estrella also recounted building a browser-based chat application in three hours with the help of AI and deploying it on a computer powered by Apple’s M2 chip. He used the example to illustrate how generative AI has reduced the time and technical resources needed to prototype software.
He said Globe Business uses technology consultants to help customers plan deployments spanning connectivity, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and application development.
“What they do is they help you orchestrate the whole thing,” Estrella said. “They help you orchestrate everything from connectivity all the way to the cybersecurity part, AI, the AI setup and development.”
Cost, he added, should be evaluated according to the organization’s size, number of users, transaction volumes, data requirements, and risk profile. A bank handling continuous financial transactions would require more extensive security infrastructure than a smaller company with limited data-processing needs.
“Readiness is in the mind. Readiness is also in the budget,” Estrella said. “But at the same time, there is a way to prototype things so you don’t have to go all out.”
The summit also featured demonstrations of self-healing networks, quantum-safe security protocols, telco APIs, automated identity verification, credit-scoring systems, cybersecurity simulations, and enterprise AI agents.
One demonstration presented a digital loan process using telco APIs for authentication, automated identity checks, and credit assessment. Another placed participants inside a simulated multichannel cyberattack to show how security controls could operate across different parts of an enterprise technology stack.
A separate demonstration allowed participants to build customized enterprise AI agents using Google’s Gemini technology for departmental and operational tasks.
Former DBS Bank chief innovation officer Neal Cross also discussed how the bank linked customer-facing services with automated backend infrastructure to support services such as digital onboarding and high-availability online banking.
Globe Business said the approach depends on a reliable network capable of supporting real-time data exchanges among customer channels, applications, security systems, and backend infrastructure.
