Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 series in the Philippines, offering four smartphones that emphasize larger batteries, reinforced construction, longer software support, and upgraded displays and cameras.
The lineup comprises the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 17 5G, and Redmi Note 17. Prices start at P13,999 for the standard model and reach P28,999 for the top-tier Pro Max.
Xiaomi said global shipments of the Redmi Note series have exceeded 500 million units.
The company is marketing the new lineup around “Redmi Titan Durability,” a set of features covering battery longevity, structural reinforcement, and resistance to water and drops.
Xiaomi said the phones would receive up to six years of security updates. Selected models are also designed to maintain battery health for up to six years, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is claimed to deliver a six-year “like-new” software experience based on the company’s internal aging tests.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G are the first smartphones to receive TÜV SÜD’s 5-star Titan Durability Certification, according to Xiaomi. The assessment covers drop resistance, water resistance, and battery performance.
The Redmi Note 17 5G and Redmi Note 17, meanwhile, carry TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification.
The Pro Max is equipped with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 100W HyperCharge, and up to 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi claims the phone can operate for up to three days on one charge, while a 20-minute charge can provide a full day of use under its testing conditions.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has an 8,340mAh battery with 67W charging. The Redmi Note 17 5G and Redmi Note 17 both use 7,700mAh batteries and support 45W charging.
Xiaomi said the batteries are designed to retain at least 80% of their original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, which it equated to about six years of typical use based on internal testing.
The two Pro models carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust- and water-resistance ratings. Xiaomi said the devices passed a two-meter, 72-hour water-resistance test in laboratory conditions.
They are also SGS-certified to withstand drops of up to three meters onto a smooth granite surface under controlled conditions. Both models use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and reinforced internal structures.
The series adopts flat displays, rounded corners, redesigned camera modules, and dual-finish rear panels. The Pro models have 6.83-inch screens, while the Redmi Note 17 5G and Redmi Note 17 use larger 6.99-inch panels.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G and Pro 5G offer 1.5K resolution, peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, and an instantaneous touch-sampling rate of up to 3,200Hz when Game Turbo mode is activated.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 platform powers the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G. Both Pro models support up to 24GB of memory through Xiaomi’s Memory Extension feature on compatible configurations.
The Pro Max also supports Xiaomi HyperAI, while all four phones include Google Gemini and Circle to Search. The two Pro models add AI-based photo-editing tools such as AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Beautify, and AI Image Enhancement.
For video, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G can record at 4K resolution and 30 frames per second. Dual-video recording is available across the series, while Professional Video mode and Live Moment are limited to the Pro models.
Under Xiaomi’s early-bird promotion from Sept. 15 to Oct. 1, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G starts at P28,999 for the 8GB+256GB configuration. The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G starts at P20,999, while the Redmi Note 17 5G begins at P15,999.
The standard Redmi Note 17 starts at P13,999 for the 4GB+128GB version.
Depending on the model and promotion, buyers may receive either a Redmi Watch 6 Active or Redmi Buds 8 Lite. Eligible new subscribers may also get six months of Google One with 200GB of storage, two months of YouTube Premium, and three months of Spotify Premium.
The Redmi Note 17 series went on sale in the Philippines on Sept. 15 through participating Xiaomi channels, including the company’s official Lazada and Shopee stores.
