Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has renewed its title partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing for multiple years and will become the team’s official artificial intelligence (AI) partner as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship moves into its GEN4 era.
The expanded agreement will focus on applying AI and other digital technologies to racing operations, vehicle engineering, and the development of future Jaguar electric vehicles.
The renewal follows five years of collaboration between TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing, which won the Formula E Teams’ World Championship in 2024 and 2026. The team finished the 2025/26 season with four victories and 10 podium finishes to secure the latest title.
Abhinav Kumar, TCS global chief marketing officer, said the partnership would build on the team’s championship success by using AI and advanced technologies to improve performance.
“This partnership demonstrates what is possible when world-class teams come together with a shared ambition to innovate. At the close of a great season, culminating in the Teams’ World Championship, we are pleased to extend our partnership and build on that momentum as Formula E enters the GEN4 era.
“With this renewal, we will further harness AI and advanced technologies to unlock new performance opportunities to help Jaguar TCS Racing compete for more podiums and championship wins.”
Chris Thorp, chairman of JLR Motorsport, which operates Jaguar TCS Racing, said the collaboration would also support the development of future Jaguar vehicles.
“Our partnership with TCS has been instrumental in helping Jaguar TCS Racing push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and innovation.
“As the Championship enters the GEN4 era, this collaboration helps us drive the future of all-electric motorsport while informing the next generation of Jaguar cars.
“Extending our partnership with TCS is grounded in proven delivery, shared values, and a clear vision for how data and AI can elevate motorsport performance.”
Over the past five years, the companies have used cloud computing and digital twin technology to improve racing performance and support vehicle electrification.
One of the collaboration’s key technologies is TCS’s Virtual Vehicle Validation Model (V3M), which allows engineers to test software changes through simulations before implementing them.
The system enables continuous validation and helps engineers make decisions within the tight timelines of competitive racing.
The partnership also includes education initiatives aimed at developing future engineers and data scientists.
Through TCS’s Ignite My Future program, nearly 30,000 students across 16 countries have explored racing data, vehicle design, and race strategy since 2023.
The program uses customized lesson plans and behind-the-scenes content featuring the team, while selected students have participated in trackside activities at Formula E races.
TCS has worked with JLR for more than a decade. The IT services company also has a 50-year presence in the United Kingdom, where it works with more than 200 brands.
