SK Telecom, which launched the world’s first commercial 5G, is transferring Korea’s 5G technologies to the Philippines and will also export 5G B2B or business-to-business solutions to the country via Now Corp.
Spanning 14,000 kilometers, the new undersea fiber will connect to PLDT’s cable landing station in Daet, Camarines Norte and will provide additional capacity of more than 22Tbps from the Philippines directly to and from Japan, and 17.6Tbps to the West Coast in the US.
Globe will provide free Wi-Fi access via GoWiFi to 27 barangay health centers, inside the Makati City Hall and University of Makati as part of the memorandum of agreement.
Under the program, farmer beneficiaries will be able to receive payments for produce as well as disbursements from cash assistance from DBP-partner local governments and organizations through their PayMaya-powered ID cards. PayMaya will also be providing the cashless disbursement platform to the partner organizations.
UnionBank signed an MOU with Now Corp. and affiliate Now Telecom to utilize and promote the use of new generation telecommunication networks, including 5G wireless technology, in support of the bank’s digital transformation roadmap.
