The information technology sector led AI investment activity in Asia Pacific in 2024, according to IDC, with the majority of deals targeting cloud computing, cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, data analytics, and machine learning.
Acer retained its lead in the Philippine PC market with a 24.1 market share, according to analyst firm IDC. But another report by market research firm GfK put Acer’s total market share during the same period at 35.7%, with a 34.2% share in consumer notebooks, and a 40.6% share in gaming laptops.
The study, which surveyed hundreds of digital users early this year, revealed that more Filipinos are turning to podcasts as tools to cope with feeling emotionally overwhelmed or mentally saturated, a result of today's hyperconnected digital landscape.
The data revealed that the Philippines has slipped down the global leaderboard, falling four places to 75th overall, placing the country behind all other analyzed markets within the Asia-Pacific region, except for Laos, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea.
Online sellers believe they have integrated AI into 47% of their business operations, even though actual adoption stands only at 37%, highlighting a clear gap between perceived and actual AI adoption.
