After successive announcements from local and foreign companies on data center projects in the country, Globe Telecom has joined the "hyperscaler" fray by disclosing on Wednesday, March 2, that it formed of a joint venture partnership with Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) and Ayala Corporation (AC) for the construction of data center projects in the Philippines.
Globe said it has encountered numerous permitting issues with homeowners associations (HOAs) mainly due to unfounded health risks and aesthetic reasons.
Globe Telecom, which is now slowly transforming into a digital solutions platform from a traditional telco, said it is supporting the upcoming National Vaccination Day through an anti-fake news campaign.
Globe said reducing the spectrum user fees will allow telcos to divert essential resources to much-needed network builds instead of paying expensive fees.
