The National Privacy Commission (NPC) said the sale of Uber's Southeast Asia operations to main rival Grab will not affect its ongoing investigation into past Uber breaches that involved Filipino users.
Users of Uber in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia have only until April 8 to use the ride-sharing app before they will be required to use the platform of rival app Grab.
Grab drivers will have the chance to augment their income by sharing their unique Kasama Ka Builder ID code to family, friends, and even loyal customers so they can earn a referral fee each time these individuals apply for digital financial products offered by FinTQ.
These livelihood programs are seen to help the wives augment their husbands' incomes after Grab learned that most of its 20,000 accredited drivers are the sole breadwinners of their households, Cosgayon said.
