Riot Games has partnered with Philippine-based e-sports company Mineski Global for the online tournament.
The first week of the tournament gathered P460,000 from participating players, e-sports partners, and viewers at MineskiTV’s Facebook channel, nearing halfway of the end goal, which is P1,000,000.
The partnership between the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) and e-sports company Mineski Global is expected to give e-sports in the Philippines a big boost.
After starting out as an Internet café, Filipino-owned e-sports company Mineski Global inaugurated on Thursday, Dec. 6, its global corporate headquarters at the Santolan Town Plaza in San Juan City in a bid to continue its expansion outside of its current territories in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
E-sports will be officially included in the calendar of games for the 30th Southeast Asian Games, which will be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11, 2019.
