Most of the funding was focused on autonomous passenger vehicles (APVs), surgical robotics, and warehouse automation, with significant growth for field robotics and drone services.
The contest, which followed football in its previous runs from 2011-2014, now features robots shooting sepak takraw balls in a trajectory towards their respective goals.
The national team, represented this time by Grace Christian College’s “Gracean Whiz”, received the Silver Award for Gracious Professionalism in the competition that drew 43 teams (over 400 students) from 21 countries.
