The collaboration, which aims to inculcate scientific innovation and robotics learning among the kids of Dagupan City and other areas of Pangasinan, was the result of the partnership that started when SEI celebrated the World Space Week in the city in 2011.
During the ceremony, Biyo also announced availability of new scholarship slots as mandated by Republic Act 10612 or also known as the ?Expanded Scholarship Act of 2013.?
Republic Act No. 10612 envisions a fast-tracking of more science, technology and engineering graduates by offering scholarships to deserving students in their third year of undergraduate study, based on their competitiveness and merit, the Deped said in an email message.
The Superfund for Science and Engineering Scholarships is targeted to raise P5 billion in five years to encourage and enable the best and brightest Filipino youths to pursue studies and careers in science and engineering (S&E).
