Artificial intelligence (AI) is not going to be a threat at all if a company can conduct its automation roadmap properly, an Israeli IT executive said.
AI ?is not something intelligent,? Itamar Gero, chief executive officer of Truelogic, said in an interview at the sidelines of the Start Jerusalem pitching competition held in Makati City. ?It involves a lot of automated tasks with a lot of conditions.?
If a programmer didn?t program the commands, the machine would not respond and ?the decision wouldn?t be made yet,? he explained.
His optimism about AI is based on the benefits that his company reaped from automation. Although technology allowed it to serve more clients here and abroad, the company retained its original workforce and grew further through innovation and automation.
?Automation is good in a way is you harness it correctly. You need to be the operator of the AI process,? stressed Gero, also the president of the Israel Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCP).
Established in 2008, TrueLogic offers services such as search engine optimization, web design, Google Adword, social media marketing, content marketing, and reputation management.
Start Jerusalem
Meanwhile, Gero said Israel wants to promote the gospel of innovation in developing markets like the Philippines. To promote the culture of innovation in the country, the ICCP recently conducted the Start Jerusalem pitching contest.
Cagayan de Oro City-based EdTech startup Wela School Systems won the Pitch Jerusalem competition which will take its representative to Israel to join other founders from around the globe for the event.
Wela School Systems will also take part in a five-day innovation experience with workshops and sessions designed to take their startup to the next level.
?We want to be the vanguard of innovation and we want to connect with countries that are still building up their capacity for innovation and expose them to what could be done and how is it done Israel,? he said. ?Once they see it, hopefully they bring it as an inspiration or learning to their home countries.?
Israel is recognized as a global technology powerhouse as more than half of its exports come from its high-tech industry.
