Fiber Internet and digital consumer services provider Converge ICT has rolled out Converge Freedom, a streaming service that gives current subscribers access to premium channels and lets them watch content whenever they want and where ever they are.
Launched at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on March 29, Converge Freedom features content of any type – from news and films, to music, sports, lifestyle, and kiddie shows.
It also runs on Converge’s own pure end to end fiber network which means images are crystal clear and there is no buffering.
“Our habits have changed,”said Converge ICT Solutions chief operating officer Jesus Romero. “Today, when you talk about TV, it’s always a static experience. Big screen…. but that is no long consistent with the habits that today’s generation is looking for.”
The on-demand streaming service gives subscribers the ability to control their viewing experience via four unique functionalities. These are Time Shift, Playback, Multiview, and Movability.
With the Time Shift functionality, viewers can pause, rewind, and fast forward the content for up to four hours.
With Playback, viewers who skipped or missed out on shows or episodes get the chance to watch it within a period of seven days from airing.
Multiview is perfect for families whose members have varying choices of viewing fare because it allows them to watch different programs at the same time via different devices.
On the other hand, the Movability feature streams content anywhere within the home.
Among the premium channels available in Converge FREEDOM are HBO HD, HBO Signature, National Geographic, NBA, Fox Movies, Bloomberg, AXN, CNN, Disney, Discovery Channel, and others.
“We want to be able to capture the needs of the people versus the habits and provide a service that allows us to give the best of both,” said Romero. “We have designed it so that fun follows function.”
