Comelec secures PCOS machines in Cabuyao warehouse

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has assured the safety and security of the Comelec warehouse where the PCOS machines are stored at the Laguna Light Industry and Science Park, a report from government-run news agency said.

Comelec Chair Sixto Brillantes Jr. said in a TV interview that he has ordered an investigation into reports that some persons allegedly tinkered with the conveyor area of the PCOS machines in the Cabuyao warehouse.

The poll body chief also explored the possibility for the filing of contempt or election offense charges against the scrupulous persons.

Brillantes, however, clarified the PCOS machines remain intact and are not tinkered with and directed Comelec to augment its security requirements to the warehouse.

He said police and military personnel have been dispatched to secure the place in addition to the Cabuyao industrial park?s security units.

Cabuyao City executive senior police officer 4 Domingo Quijano confirmed the Cabuyao police station was advised on the operational plan of the Comelec highly secured storage site.

Cabuyao police said they were tasked only to provide visibility around the area, augment when necessary but the Comelec hierarchy calls the shots on the security contingents in the perimeter.

Police sources said operational matters on perimeter security are requested through the Police Security Protection Group. — PNA
