Top HP exec leaves firm to take new post as SAS country manager

Analytics and business intelligence firm SAS has appointed veteran tech executive Ryan Guadalquiver as its new country manager for the Philippines.

Guadalquiver, a former country manager of the local office of HP, will assume his new position effective January 1, 2018. Prior to his appointment, he was the regional sales director and general manager for South East Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

In a statement, SAS said Guadalquiver will be responsible for managing the company?s business activities in-country, encompassing sales growth, customer satisfaction, and partner development.

Guadalquiver will report to SAS vice president for ASEAN Andy Zook.

?Ryan is well-acquainted with key enterprises in the Philippines and understands the specific challenges faced by these organizations,? said Zook.

?His appointment comes at a time of rapid growth for SAS in the Asean region, as the rise of digitization here enables the opening of new markets, improvement of service delivery channels and strengthening of institutions. I am excited to have Ryan on board and to see his expertise and leadership skills drive our business forward as we aim to make our analytics solutions the core component of many local operations.?

For his part, Guadalquiver said organizations are now turning to data analytics as a strategic differentiator across the region.

?After covering Southeast Asia region, I have seen a large number of enterprises start their transformation journey and the Philippines has been in the forefront of digital transformation,? he said.

Guadalquiver has more than 20 years of experience leading some of the biggest global technology companies both at the regional and country level.

Before being named to the top local post in HP, he was also the top honcho at Oracle Philippines. He also worked in various large organizations including LogicaCMG, SchlumbergerSema, Globe Telecom, and Abbott Laboratories.

Guadalquiver is an alumnus of Asian Institute of Management (AIM) where he completed his Master?s Degree. He is an accounting graduate of De La Salle University and he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
