Taiwanese network attached storage (NAS) provider Synology announced on Tuesday, July 31, its aim to strengthen its brand presence in the country by launching new products and services.
At a press luncheon, the company formally unveiled in the country the Synology Replacement Service, the Active Backup Suite, and the RS1219+ rackmount NAS solution.
Synology data indicated the Philippines? NAS market had the highest growth rate among Asian countries with over 50-percent growth in this year alone. The increased demand for their products provided the company with the perfect opportunity to enter the Philippines? market.
?In this case with economic growth, and also the improvement of infrastructure, and the awareness of security, we are quite positive of our fast development in the Philippines market,? said Synology ASEAN sales account manager Victor Wang during the press briefing held in Pasig City.
As of August 1, the Synology Replacement Service is available in the Philippines. In order to reduce downtime cause by hardware failures, this service is offers free, rapid two-way shipping for replacement products and collection of defective hardware applicable to all current rackmount NAS under warranty.
The Active Backup Suite is billed as the complete business backup solution and is comprised of the Active Backup for Business, Active Backup for G Suit, and the Active Backup for Office 365.
The Active Backup for Business provides protection for various workloads from PCs, Windows and Linux Servers, and virtual machines through a single centralized console on a Synology NAS. It supports incremental backup, global deduplication and versatile methods of restoring data.
By integrating Active Backup for Business with the Synology Virtual Machine Manager, users may also replace a production environment for temporary disaster site.
The Active Backup for G Suite, meanwhile, allows businesses to control and protect corporate data stored on the G Suite by backing up and centralizing it to a Synology NAS.
Active Backup for Office 365 serves as an on-premise backup solution that protects corporate data created and stored on cloud devices.
Currently, Active Backup for Business and G Suit are on beta stage. Active backup for Office 365, however, is already available on a subscription basis.
The company is also releasing the RS1219+ its first 2U 8-bay rackmount NAS solution. Available in the Philippines on the second week of August and targeted towards small and medium enterprises (SMEs), it features a starting 2GB dual channel RAM expandable to a maximum of 16GB, M.2 SATA SSD support with M2D18, and a 12-inch depth for 2-Post racks wall mount racks.
In order to further promote brand presence in the country, Synology will attend exhibitions, host events for its SMEs, and open experience centers to cater to personal-use consumers.
