By Espie Angelica A. de Leon

Samsung Philippines formally introduced the Galaxy Note 9 to members of the press at an event dubbed “Samsung Galaxy Unpacked” held at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City on August 9.

Packed with features that promise power users — serious gamers included — top level performance, Note 9 boasts of the first Bluetooth technology-integrated S Pen with remote control capabilities. Bluetooth ensures constant connection between the phone and the pen which has a super capacitor that allows it to be charged within 40 seconds.

The impressive upgrades don?t end with the phone?s S Pen, however.

Note 9 gifts its owners with convenience, seamlessness, and continuity of usage with its 4,000 mAH all-day battery life. Its screen size, at 6.4 inches, is the largest on any Note phone. It has a maximum RAM amount of 8GB and storage capacity of either 128 GB or 512GB for the variant which will be available in the market in limited number. It is also equipped with an industry-leading water carbon cooling system and AI-based performance adjuster to keep things running smoothly even for the most intense gaming enthusiast.

Furthermore, Samsung?s partnership with AKG and Dolby Atmos has made it possible for Note 9 to have built-in speakers with a richer sound — 1.4 times louder than that of its predecessor.

The camera is a marvel of craftsmanship on its own. It is equipped with dual aperture lens for better images, auto scene recognition and color optimization capabilities for sharper images and colors, super slow motion technology, and auto detection for flaws and problems such as a subject who had his eyes closed as the picture was taken. The Note 9 also comes with a secondary rear camera for 2X optical zoom.

Its other features include a wide range of writing styles for note-taking which users can automatically share in Whatsapp or Viber, artwork and emojis which can go with the photos.

?It?s a smartphone powerful enough to keep up with you, wherever you are, whatever you are doing, whatever you need,? said Samsung president and CEO Dong Jin Kho at an event livestreamed from New York City.
