Tech titan Google has announced that Android Auto, a smart driving companion that helps drivers stay focused, connected, and entertained while on the road is now available in Philippines.
Starting October 31, Filipinos can download the Android Auto app for free at the Google Play Store. Users can simply run the app on their handset or connect the device to their car display via a USB cable so they can see and manage actions on a bigger screen.
To use Android Auto, users need a phone running Android 5.0 or higher (Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo or Pie) and an active data connection.
Google worked with top car manufacturers and industry experts to ensure that Android Auto is optimized for easier and safer driving experience. It comes with larger touch icons, simplified user interface, and even hands-free voice commands so car owners can cruise the road with minimal distractions.
With Android Auto, drivers can open Waze or Google Maps to guide them in their trips with real-time traffic alerts and route directions. Their Google accounts, phone contacts, and even favorite music playlists are also linked to the app so they can have an enjoyable time in the car.
The smart driving companion is also compatible with hundreds of media and messaging Android products and third-party apps including Spotify, Skype, and Audiobooks from Audible to name a few.
Android Auto is currently available on over 500 car models in more than 30 countries in the world including the Philippines.
