Coins.ph joins Circle network to support peso payouts for cross-border payments

Cryptocurrency and digital payments platform Coins.ph has joined the Circle Payments Network (CPN) to support local currency payouts for cross-border transactions into the country.

Coins.ph is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and offers cryptocurrency trading, digital wallets, and payment services. Circle operates a global payments and stablecoin infrastructure used by financial institutions and fintech platforms.

Under the arrangement, Coins.ph will act as a beneficiary financial institution on the network, enabling settlement of overseas payments into Philippine pesos through its connections with more than 120 local banks and e-wallets.

The integration allows financial institutions and platforms using CPN to route funds directly to local recipients in the Philippines, with settlement processed through blockchain-based infrastructure.

Coins.ph said the setup is intended to reduce transaction costs and shorten processing times compared with traditional remittance channels.

The company said the service is aimed at overseas Filipino workers, their families, and businesses that rely on international payments, offering near-instant access to funds and real-time transaction tracking.

“Joining Circle Payments Network makes the Philippine Peso a native part of the internet economy,” said Wei Zhou, chief executive officer of Coins.ph.

“Through this integration, we’re helping to modernize how value moves into the Philippines by reducing the costs and delays often associated with legacy cross-border infrastructure, while improving the speed and predictability of local payouts.”

Circle, which operates the payments network, said the partnership expands its reach in the Philippine market.

“Coins.ph’s integration with CPN strengthens local payout capabilities in the Philippines,” said Irfan Ganchi, senior vice president for product management at Circle Payments.

“By enabling PHP payouts through CPN, Coins.ph helps institutions deliver real-time, compliant settlement in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic markets.”
