Crypto platform Coins.ph has donated P3 million to Angat Pinas to support relief operations for communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that recently struck southern Mindanao.
The donation will be used to fund the procurement and distribution of emergency supplies, including food and potable water, for displaced families in the hardest-hit areas.
According to Coins.ph, the earthquake affected communities across southern Mindanao, with General Santos City and the municipality of Maasim among the areas reporting severe damage. Strong tremors were also felt in nearby Alabel and other parts of Sarangani Province.
The company said part of the assistance will also support the welfare of animals affected by the disaster, including displaced cats and dogs.
“In the wake of the recent devastating earthquake, our priority at Coins.ph has been simply to empower the responders who are delivering hope directly to Mindanao,” said Wei Zhou, chief executive officer of Coins.ph.
“This support is vital because these ongoing relief operations provide immediate, practical aid directly to displaced families where it is needed most. For us, this is about standing in genuine solidarity with the communities we serve and ensuring that critical lifelines remain fully funded as they rebuild and recover,” Zhou added.
Angat Pinas welcomed the contribution, saying it would help accelerate the delivery of assistance to affected communities.
“In times of disaster, every act of solidarity matters,” said Raffy Magno, executive director of Angat Pinas. “We are grateful to Coins.ph for standing with earthquake-affected communities in Mindanao and helping ensure that timely assistance reaches areas that need it most.”
The organization said relief operations are being coordinated with local responders in General Santos City and nearby municipalities.
Coins.ph also encouraged the public to support ongoing relief efforts through Angat Pinas’ donation channels.
