BYD Cars Philippines has launched the Sealion 7, an all-electric crossover SUV positioned as the company’s flagship performance EV in the local market.
The vehicle was unveiled at the Glorietta Activity Center by BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility.
The Sealion 7 combines the engineering platform of the BYD Seal sedan with a larger crossover body aimed at families and long-distance travel.
Powered by dual electric motors and an all-wheel-drive system, the Sealion 7 produces 530PS and 690Nm of torque. BYD said the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds.
The vehicle uses an 82.6kWh BYD Blade Battery and has a claimed driving range of up to 542 kilometers on a single charge.
The Sealion 7 measures 4.83 meters long, 1.93 meters wide, and 1.62 meters high. Interior features include ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a power tailgate with kick sensor functionality.
The SUV also comes with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a heads-up display, and voice assistant features. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the vehicle to supply power to external devices and appliances.
Safety features include BYD’s DiPilot Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which offers a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure assistance, blind spot detection, and driver attention warning.
“With the BYD Sealion 7, consumers no longer need to choose between high performance thrill and everyday practicality,” said Bob Palanca, managing director of BYD Cars Philippines.
“Bridging sustainability and dynamic mobility, this vehicle marks another key milestone as we continue to lead the country’s charge towards electrification.”
The BYD Sealion 7 is priced at P2.588 million and comes with a six-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, along with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the Blade battery.
The vehicle is available in Shark Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Deep Sea Blue.
BYD also said customers purchasing the Sealion 7 through BPI until June 30 can avail themselves of a P388,000 downpayment offer and one year of free comprehensive insurance.
