Acer extends two-decade lead in PH laptop market

Acer remained the top laptop brand in the Philippines during the first five months of 2026, capturing 37% of the consumer segment and 34.5% of the gaming segment, according to Nielsen-GfK data cited by the company.

The latest figures follow Acer’s 37.3% share of the consumer laptop market in 2025, its highest annual share to date.

Separate data from the IDC Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker for the fourth quarter of 2025 ranked Acer as the country’s top laptop brand for the 20th consecutive year, covering the period from 2006 to 2025.

“These achievements are deeply meaningful to us as we celebrate Acer’s 50th anniversary,” said Sue Ong-Lim, managing director of Acer Philippines.

“They reflect our strong commitment to our mission of breaking barriers between people and technology, one that has guided our innovations for five decades.”

Apart from its consumer and gaming computer businesses, Acer operates an extensive retail and service network in the country. It also organizes Acer Day and the Asia Pacific Predator League, an esports tournament now entering its eighth year.

The company is also targeting the education market through the Acer Edu Summit, which brings together policymakers, educators, and technology companies to discuss the use of artificial intelligence and other technologies in schools.

Acer, founded in 1976, marks its 50th anniversary in 2026. The Taiwan-based company sells computers, displays, and related technology products in more than 160 countries.
