Kia Philippines has launched the latest Sportage in the country, offering the compact sport utility vehicle in two variants powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid system.
The powertrain pairs the gasoline engine with a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery to produce a combined 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque. Both variants carry a five-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the hybrid battery.
The Sportage adopts Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, with the brand’s Tiger Nose grille, Star-Map Signature LED headlights, an aerodynamic body, and standard 18-inch alloy wheels. It also comes with a smart power tailgate.
Inside, the SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless device charging.
The EX variant has a six-speaker audio system, while the higher-end SX gets an eight-speaker Harman Kardon system.
Standard safety equipment includes cruise control, six airbags, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The SX adds Kia’s DriveWise driver-assistance technologies, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.
“The reborn Kia Sportage integrates Kia’s ‘Movement That Inspires’ philosophy into a compact SUV tailored for the Filipino driver,” the company said.
The Sportage EX is priced at P1.978 million, although Kia is offering it at an introductory price of P1.898 million until July 31. The SX costs P2.098 million, while an SX version with a two-tone interior is priced at P2.128 million.
Both variants are available in Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey. Heritage Blue is offered exclusively for the SX.
