JG Summit expands use of Darwinbox platform for workforce management

JG Summit Holdings, one of the Philippines’ largest conglomerates, is expanding its use of the human resource management platform Darwinbox as part of its ongoing digital transformation.

The move deepens a partnership that began in 2021, with the goal of unifying JG Summit’s HR systems across its various businesses.

The company said the platform will consolidate data and automate routine HR processes, providing AI-powered tools to improve decision-making, employee engagement, and talent development.

“We are committed to equipping our people with the best tools to help them thrive,” said JG Summit president and CEO Lance Gokongwei.

“This partnership allows us to use AI-driven automation and insights to enhance efficiency as we pursue our business objectives.”

According to chief human resources officer Gulliver Go, the system will reduce administrative workloads and give HR teams analytics-based insights to support recruitment and retention.

Darwinbox, an India-based HR tech firm, has been expanding in Southeast Asia and has localized its platform to meet Philippine labor requirements.

It is used by more than 1,000 enterprises worldwide and was recently listed as a Challenger in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM Suites.

The company’s latest updates include a multi-country payroll solution, over 45 generative AI features, and an AI-focused HR management framework.

Gokongwei said the expanded rollout will help JG Summit “support its workforce better and prepare the organization for the future.”
