Motorists can now travel seamlessly across Luzon’s major expressways using a single RFID account, as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Infrastructure and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) officially launched the One RFID program on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
The ceremony, held in Calamba, was led by Pres Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., marking the full completion of the country’s long-awaited toll interoperability project.
The unified system integrates SMC’s Autosweep and MPTC’s Easytrip electronic toll collection (ETC) platforms, allowing motorists to use just one RFID sticker and account for all expressways operated by the two major tollway companies.
“This milestone interoperability will directly benefit motorists who register for a new ETC account, as they will only need one RFID and account to travel seamlessly across the Luzon expressway network,” the companies said in a joint statement.
The One RFID program covers all major toll roads in Luzon — including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), Skyway System, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), STAR Tollway, Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX), and the NAIA Expressway.
Registration for One RFID is optional. Motorists who already have separate Autosweep and Easytrip accounts may continue using both or opt to merge them under the unified system.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) spearheaded the interoperability initiative as part of the government’s effort to streamline toll operations and enhance travel efficiency nationwide.
“The road to One RFID was not easy,” SMC and MPTC noted. “Both ETC providers made significant upgrades to their infrastructure to integrate systems and conducted rigorous testing to ensure smooth and seamless interoperability.”

Following completion, both companies said they will focus on expanding registration access points and enhancing system reliability to provide a better experience for motorists.
They also acknowledged the support of Department of Transportation secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez and TRB executive director Jose Arturo M. Tugade for guiding the project to completion.
“With One RFID, we move closer to a truly unified, efficient, and world-class expressway network for the Filipino people,” the statement added.
