Telecommunications tower company EdgePoint Infrastructure has signed a 10-year partnership with Globe Telecom to supply and maintain direct current (DC) power systems across Globe’s tower sites nationwide.
Under the deal, Globe will consolidate its passive infrastructure requirements — including towers, power systems, and site operations — under EdgePoint Philippines, the local subsidiary of the Asean-based tower firm. The arrangement is expected to improve network reliability, reduce costs, and simplify maintenance for Globe’s mobile network.
The partnership covers the installation and upkeep of rectifiers and battery storage systems at EdgePoint-operated sites where Globe’s active telecom equipment is located. EdgePoint currently manages more than 3,000 tower sites in the country, including 20 solar-hybrid locations.
EdgePoint Philippines CEO William Walters said the collaboration is part of the company’s strategy to provide integrated energy and tower services for telcos. “We aim to enhance energy resilience through sustainable and cost-efficient solutions,” Walters said.
Globe CFO Carlo Puno said the initiative supports the company’s goal of improving network resiliency and operational efficiency.
“Reliable and sustainable access to power is critical in today’s digital world,” he said. “This partnership strengthens our foundation for energy-efficient connectivity.”
