DICT says no verified breach in eGov PH system

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said it has found no verified breach affecting the core infrastructure of the government’s eGov PH platform, following reports of alleged unauthorized access now under review by the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

In a statement, the DICT said its National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT), together with the eGovPH team, conducted a technical assessment after receiving the reports, including a review of system logs, access controls, network activity, and platform infrastructure.

“No breach has been verified in the core eGov PH system; there is no evidence of large-scale extraction of Know Your Customer (KYC) or personal data; and reported incidents were isolated and linked to third-party components, with no impact on the main platform,” the agency said.

The DICT added that it found no indicators of sustained unauthorized access or systemic compromise, noting that online claims about the incident remain unverified and are not supported by technical validation.

The department said it has since stepped up cybersecurity measures, including 24/7 monitoring, enhanced threat detection, proactive vulnerability testing, strengthened incident response, and tighter oversight of third-party systems.

The DICT said it is coordinating with the NPC and will continue to provide updates as necessary, maintaining that “there is currently no verified data breach affecting eGov PH users.”
