Japanese technology firm Epson has launched a new high-speed document scanner aimed at offices shifting to more digitized workflows, as businesses continue to increase investments in paperless operations and document management systems.
The company said the new WorkForce DS-530III scanner delivers scanning speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) or 80 images per minute (ipm), with a daily duty cycle of up to 6,500 pages.
The device supports one-pass duplex scanning, allowing both sides of a document to be scanned simultaneously.
Designed for office environments handling large volumes of paperwork, the A4 duplex sheet-fed scanner also includes automatic feeding mode for batch scanning and supports mixed document sizes in a single file.
Epson said the scanner comes with paper protection and double feed detection skip (DFDS) technology designed to prevent document damage, including for papers with folds, staples, or stickers.
It also includes glass dirt detection to minimize rescanning caused by dust or smudges on the scanner surface.
The DS-530III supports carrier sheets for fragile and irregular-sized documents and can also be paired with the optional Epson Perfection V39II flatbed photo scanner for scanning thicker materials such as books and receipts.
The company added that the scanner is bundled with Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro software, which include optical character recognition (OCR), searchable PDF generation, barcode recognition, and customizable scan workflows.
“As organizations deepen their digital transformation and document management processes, they need scanning solutions that combine speed, performance, reliability, and flexibility,” said Noelle Gonzalez.
“The WorkForce DS-530III expands our scanner lineup to better support the diverse needs of our customers. This is a reflection of Epson’s commitment to precision engineering and user-focused innovation, and as a trusted partner that helps businesses work smarter every day,” Gonzalez added.
